Surface Finishes & Edging

Finishing a stone surface with a well designed edging profile is crucial to its appearance.

  • Polished – The most widely used finish and provides the greatest resilience to staining.
  • Honed – A process of flattening the surface of the granite, to give a flat, matt low sheen and a worktop without reflection. A black honed finished might be used instead of a slate work surface or floor as granite is much more hardwearing.
  • Leathered – An increasingly popular finish for granite work surfaces. The stone surfaces are pleasant to touch and create a more organic feel to the room.
