Quartz Worktops in Oxford

What is Quartz made of?

Quartz is an engineered stone product composed of over 90% quartz which is ground down, mixed with resin and formed into a slab – it is a solid stone surface just not in its natural form. There are many different manufacturers of quartz surfaces including Silestone, Caesarstone, Unistone, Cambria and many more.

How to clean quartz worktops

The main advantage of quartz is that it is maintenance free and never has to be resealed. Due to its virtually zero porosity it is difficult to stain. There are also hundreds of different colour choices to suit any kitchen design – from pure white to marble effects, sparkly mirror flecks to concrete looks.

Can you put hot pans on Quartz worktops?

Quartz is a very popular choice for kitchen work surfaces due to its ease of maintenance. Quartz surfaces can however be damaged by extreme heat. We therefore recommend that trivets or pan stands are used for hot dishes and pans straight from the oven or hob.

Do Quartz countertops scratch?

Quartz surfaces are very practical and beautiful but they are not indestructible. Care should be taken when handling heavy items directly above the quartz work surface.
